 Narrative Paragraph

Topic: “The hardest thing I have to do”


Paralyzed My Memory

Five years ago, when I was in my Senior High School. I ever loved someone. He was very kind boy. His name was Ardi. Ardi had a handsome face. He was also very smart, it made every single girl interested to him. It was mean that I also interested to him. He had been my classmate for three years. It began when I was in first grade. His seat was behind me. We studied together and he always help me when I met a trouble. We were very close. He told me everything about him, but he never told me about his feeling to me. I didn’t know that he loved me because he never had bravery to say it. In a second grade, I had a relationship with our classmate, Arari. He was also very kind boy. He was braver than Ardi. He could express his feeling to me. I was not realy like to him because the one that I loved just Ardi although I never knew about his feeling. My memory was just about Ardi. I was very sining to Arari because I couldn’t love him as deep as he loved me. I didn’t want to make both of them hurt because of me so I decided to end my relationship with Arari. I knew although I couldn’t want make them hurt but I had done it. They was very disapointed to me moreover Ardi. After We graduated from our Senior High School, we became foreign people. Now, Ardi had been studying in one of university in Jakarta. In other hand I had been studying in one of university in Lampung. We separated by a straid. We could meet once a year. I ever hear from his friend that He couldn’t make a relatonship mith me anymore because he had so many reason. Yeah, one of them of course because I ever made him hurt. He was afraid that I would do this mistake one more time. I had been loving him for five years until this second I couldn’t forget him. My memory was fuling by his name but I realized that I couldn’t with him. I tried everyhing to make me forget about him. I tried to be closer with another boy. I tried to make me busy with my campus activity but all of that couldn’t make me forget about him. I didn’t know what should I do. Should I came to him and I asked him to say that he hate me? Or I should hit my head to make me had an amnesia and I could forget him? I though that it was silly thing. I made it slow down but sure. I tried to be fine. I began to think although I loved him but it didn’t mean that I should gather with him. I tried to accept this destiny happily. I stil had many people that loved me very much so I should forget him for ever.

Fifth Assignment



The Description about Narrative Writing and How to Differ from Other Genres
Narrative writing is writing which tell the reader about imagination story in the past. Narrative writing is always focus in specific participants.
The purpose of narrative writing is to entertain the readers.
A narrative writing has some generic structure, they are:
1.             Orientation        : Introducing the participants and informing the time and    the place.
2.             Complication     : Describing the rising crises which the participants have to do with.
3.             Resolution         : Showing the way of participants to solve the crises.
When we write narrative writing, we usualy use past tense because we tell about past experience or story.
And to know the differences between narrative writing and other genres, we can find it from the following a specific structure of it. There are five elements that form this structure are:
1. Setting - When and where the story takes place.
2. Characters – The main character (protagonist) and other important people in the story
3. Problem - What challenge does the main character face.
4. Events - How the protagonist tries solving that problem.
5. Resolution - How is the problem ultimately solved by protagonist.
From those elements above,the most important to differ it from other genres is the conflicts. Narrative writing without conflicts isn’t narrative any more.

The Steps How to Make Narrative Writing
·              When you want to make narrative writing, you should decide your plot.
Example: Forward
·              And then you should set the situation that you will narate.
Example: One day there was a girl in a quite small village.
·              After that you should have a topic.
Example: Love
·               After you had a topic, you should make your topic become topic sentence.
          Example: Ainun loves Habibi in every way.
·              When you have topic sentence, you should develop it with supporting sentence.
Example: Habibi isn’t perfect, but Ainun can love Habibi well.
·              To make your writing more specific, you should have controlling idea to cotrol your sentences.

My Examination Preparation
One day, there was a girl named Adellina. She was me. I was school in SMA N 1 Seputih Raman, Central Lampung. At that time, I was in third grade. I though that it was very tired phase during my education. I should prepare all of the thing to face examination.  I should prepare my examination well. I would have examination on April, 2012. I still have four months to study hard. I made a circle on date to know how many days I would have examination. In the first month, I got courses from my school to add knowladge and remind about the last materials. The purpose of my courses was to remind about the last subject or knowladge. I got course after school.  In my course I studied about sains because I was science students. In the second month I still enjoyed my activity. I went to school at 7a.m every morning. I never came late to class. My teacher would enter the class at 7.15a.m. My teachers gave many materials for my friends and I. I asked some questions to my teacher if I didn’t understand about the materials. When I asked question to my teacher, my friend also asked question one by one. So, the class would be very crowded. Although the class was very crowded, I and my friend was very interested about the materials. In the third month I felt bored and dizzy because I was very tired. How could examination became important thing that I should pass after I was school for 12 years. I should get up early morning to go to school and got lesson from my teacher everyday. I should went home in the afternoon everyday while my home was far enough from my school. I spent 15 minutes to go school. If I failed in my examination, my effort would be useless. I didn’t want it happen in my life. I wouldn’t make my parents sad and angry because of me whereas my parents always reminded me to study hard and pray to the God for ask God’s blessing. As a result I and my friend saldom lazy to follow the course. I and my friends never mis the course although we was very tired and lazy. I didn’t know why it happen to me. I had made 100 circle of date. It was mean that I didin’t have time to do stupid thing. I realized that I should do the best for my life. I wouldn’t spend my time to play. I studied at the school and home. I studied everyday until I was tired. My examination time was 2 days left. I prepared my health and mental at home.  Finally, the examination day arrived. I went to school at 6.30a.m. I went to school with my friend. I didn’t want to go alone. The examination began at 8a.m. I was very nervous when I entered the room. I tried to manage my self. I tried to relax and calm down. I did the question one by one. The room was very quiet. I thanked to the God because of God’s blessing I could finish my examination well. After I  gave my best effort and had examination, I got result from my examination. I got a pease of paper from my  teacher and finnaly I  could pass the examination with highest score and got graduation in 2012. So, if I would get achievment, we should study hard and didn’t forget to ask God’s blessing.
The underlined sentences are the topic sentence.

The Reason Why Called Topic Sentence
·                I was in third grade.
Because that sentence become mind idea for the next sentences.
·                I should prepare my examination well.
Because that sentence become mind idea for the next sentence that tell about what the writer do for her examination.
·                In the second month I still enjoyed my activity.
Because that sentence become center sentence that explain if the writer enjoy her activity. And followed with supporting sentence that suport that topic sentence.
·                In the third month I felt bored and dizzy because I was very tired.
Because that sentence become sentence that explain the writer’s boring that followed with supporting sentence in the next sentence.
·                It was mean that I didin’t have time to do stupid thing.
Because it indicate that the writer can’t do stupid thing, that explained in following sentence.
·                Finally, the examination day arrived.
Because it tell about the writer’s examination day.
·                I thanked to the God because of God’s blessing I could finish my examination well.
Because that sentence become reconciliation for the writer to express God blessing.
